Rutger Garecht about «the Scarlet Sails»: I’ll sing for people to enjoy

Rutger Garecht was born in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Together with his parents he lives in Orenburg. His name was chosen for him by his German father. It is translated as "pure water". To go to the talent show, the boy had to try hard, since his parents did not have money for the trip. The necessary sum was collected by his teachers. The audience remembered a famous child not only his bright timbre, but also by the images in which the young performer put his soul. About the fact that he would perform in St. Petersburg, Rutger learned from his mother a month before the festival. Channel 5 talked to the young talent and visited his rehearsals in the city on the Neva.

- What do you think, what do young people remember about the festival?

- The concert. People sing to them, so it's remembered very well. When my mother told me that I would need to go to Petersburg, I was very glad that I would visit this place. I think that I can hear other famous people here. This will be a new experience for me.

Rutger has not yet revealed the name of the song he is going to present.  But he calls it "relatively easy" and light. He told us that he learned the words, the choreography and the scenography literally within a month, which is very fast, considering how much time you need to prepare a performance.

- How many hours do you rehearse at home? Do you do it in front of the mirror?

- I do not rehearse in front of the mirror. I sing as I feel. They say that someone is teaching me to show emotions, but it’s not true. I just do it with heart. Each song needs to be rehearsed, and more sounds should be learned so that everything goes fine. A song needs to be repeated at least ten times a day. The song is never perfect. It can be done better, lighter in character. Since birth, I have a problem with my ligaments, I have a husky voice. And I very often need to practice because of my ligaments. On stage, I'm not worried about myself, but for not letting my teacher and mentor down.

Rutger told us that he is morally ready to perform in a changeable Petersburg. The wind and the sudden change of weather do not frighten him. He has been performing on stage since the age of three, but every time he worries. But, the singer admits, he stays calm on stage, because he likes what he does. - "The Scarlet Sails" will be watched by the whole world. How important is it for you?

- I hope nothing bad will happen.  I will sing for people to enjoy.

The graduates’ festival "the Scarlet Sails" will be held in St. Petersburg on Saturday, June 23. For the first time the festival was held 50 years ago, on June 27, 1968, but the tradition was interrupted 11 years later. After a long break, in 2005, the festival was revived on the initiative of a joint-stock bank “RUSSIA”. A joint stock bank RUSSIA - Together with RUSSIA! Channel 5 has won a tender for organizing and broadcasting the festival several years in a row. And now a huge team is working to ensure that "the Scarlet Sails" of 2018 will be remembered by everyone. But we will not tell you about all the surprises now, of course.
